Acceptable content policy

Version: 1.0 · Updated: 11 October 2026
Lockette gifts are private, but a person on our team reviews every one before it is delivered, and anyone shown in a gift can ask us to remove it. This policy explains what is and is not allowed. It is part of our Terms of Sale.
1. The short rule
Make a gift that the person receiving it, and everyone shown in it, would be glad to see.
2. Not allowed
2.1 Children in a romantic or sexual context. No photo, drawing, message or AR effect that shows or describes a person under 18 in any romantic, sexual or suggestive way. This includes "couple" photos where either person is, or looks, under 18. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities and keep the evidence the law requires. Children may appear only in plainly family photos, such as a couple with their kids, at our reviewer's judgement; never swimwear or bath photos of children.
2.2 Nudity and sexual content. No nudity, sexual acts, sexualised poses, or sexually explicit text. Swimwear or affectionate photos (a kiss, a hug) are fine. [FOUNDER: confirm where the line is, e.g. "beach photo yes, lingerie no".]
2.3 Harassment and unwanted contact. No gift meant to threaten, shame, pressure, frighten or stalk someone. No gifts to a person who has asked you not to contact them, or where a court order or protection order forbids contact. No "revenge" content, private photos shared without consent, or content meant to humiliate.
2.4 Other people without their agreement. No photos of people who have not agreed to appear. No hidden-camera or private photos. No photos of strangers.
2.5 Fake or manipulated likeness. No AI-generated, face-swapped or edited images that make a real person appear to do or say something they did not, unless that person has agreed and the gift makes it obvious it is playful.
2.6 Hate and violence. No content that attacks people for race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity. No threats, gore, weapons used to threaten, or glorification of violence or self-harm.
2.7 Illegal content. Nothing illegal in Malaysia or in the country of the buyer or recipient, including content that is obscene, indecent, false and menacing, or offensive under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (s.233).
2.8 Personal data and secrets. No ID card, passport, bank or card numbers, home address, passwords or medical records in a gift, yours or anyone else's. The gift page is private but not a safe.
2.9 Other people's creative work. Only use photos, music, artwork and text you have the right to use. Do not upload commercial music, film clips or artwork you did not make or license. (The current version has no music, voice or video uploads.)
2.10 Commercial and political use. Lockette is for personal gifts. No advertising, spam, political campaigning, fundraising or links to other sites in a gift.
3. What happens in review
- When you upload, an automatic check refuses clearly explicit images and flags others for review. It does not recognise faces.
- A person on our team checks every order before delivery. Nothing is delivered without that person's approval.
- If something breaks this policy and can be fixed (for example one photo), we email you and ask you to change it. Delivery waits until you do.
- If it cannot be fixed, we cancel the order and refund you in full.
- If we see signs of a child at risk, a credible threat, or other serious illegal content, we stop the order, keep only what the law requires, and may report it to the police or the relevant authority. We do not tell you first if the law or safety prevents it.
Our reviewers are people, not a guarantee. Passing review does not mean we agree your content is lawful; you remain responsible for it.
4. Reporting and removal after delivery
Anyone can report a gift page: the recipient, a person shown in it, or anyone else who has seen it.
- How: the "Report or remove" link on every gift page, or email support@lockettegift.com with the gift link.
- What happens next:
- We acknowledge your report within 48 hours.
- If the report is from someone shown in the gift, or the recipient, and they ask for removal, we switch the page off first and then look into it. A recipient's "Remove this page" hides it at once and it stays off; the content is deleted after 7 days. The buyer can only object if the request did not come from the recipient.
- For other reports, we review the page against this policy, usually within 3 working days, and switch it off if it breaks the policy.
- We tell the buyer what we did and why, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it.
- If you are the buyer and think we got it wrong, reply to our email within 14 days with your reasons. A different person on our team (where possible) looks at it again. We may restore the page, offer you a remake without the disputed content, or keep it off. We never restore a page that the recipient or a person shown has asked to remove.
- Repeat or serious breaches: we may refuse future orders from that buyer.
- Refunds: if a page is removed because it broke this policy, we do not refund it. If it is removed only because a person shown asked, and the buyer acted in good faith, we offer a free remake without that person or a refund. [FOUNDER + LAWYER: confirm.]
5. Changes
We may update this policy. The version in force when you ordered applies to the review of that order. Reports after delivery are judged against the current version.
